I think it’s crazy that Kandi hasn’t been hit with a cease and desist for their new “K27" car.


It’s obviously a cloned Daihatsu Cast.

They even cloned the damn interior.

My theory is that these cars are likely total crap; there’s a lot of competition in China for cheap EV’s and this one likely doesn’t cut the mustard. GM’s brand, Wuling, just had 50,000 orders for its new Hongguang Mini EV.

Because they can’t make it in China, they’re trying to dump these crapboxes in the US.

China has plenty of innovation and interesting small EV’s. The Kandi cars don’t seem to be one of them.

A knock off perhaps, but at least they knocked off a good looking car.

*checks specs: top speed 63mph, ca. 100 mile range - hell no, can I just buy the 660cc Daihatsu instead ?

I would love to get the Cast here in Canada! Though with a manual....because manual :P

Guess I’ll just have to import a Suzuki Alto Lapin SS...

Or at least a n Alto Works - there was someone near me who listed one on Monday, and it was sold by Thursday, not surprising for $4,000.

I think the second and last-gen Alto Works were my favorites, styling wise....though I’d be content with a current Alto Turbo RS!

I wouldn’t say no. I’d say my favorite year would be 1990 , after they got the bigger engine, but before the facelift that ditched the vertical door handles and wacky ' 80s interior
